Thread for Worm's help and troubleshooting

Worms Reloaded Troubleshooting Guide
(some copy pasted in here)

#1 First things first
Verify the integrity of the Steam game cache first before trying other fixes.

2# Worms Reloaded No Sound Fix
Started the game and have no sound no music ? you can try these workarounds to fix it.
Update your DirectX drivers.
Update your sound card drivers for your OS.
Completely uninstall sound/video card drivers and then reinstall the updated version of the drivers. Use the guru3d Driver Sweeper for a complete clean up.

3# Worms Reloaded Lag Fix
If you are experience major in-game lag, force the game to use one core. Run the game, ALT-TAB to task manager, find the worms process and set affinity to use one processor.

4# Resolution and Refresh Rate Bug
Force the game to launch in native desktop resolution. Right click on ‘Worms Reloaded’ in Steam -> Properties -> Set launch options.
Add “-w 1024 -h 768 -refresh 60″. Run the game
Supposed now you won't have any issues like the game shutting down randomly.

5# Multiplayer Lag and Connection Issues
It seems like even when you don't use your mic, if the settings in your steam client are not correct, it will constantly cause the mic to transmit the noise which will result in network congestion and connection issues.
In Steam go to Steam > Settings > Voice and make sure the selected device is correct or just disable the voice.

6# Game Lag With Saitek Keyboards Fix
If you have Saitek Keyboard and it has resulted in horrible in-game lag, you can fix it by disabling all your USB input devices.
Go to your Task Manager>Human Interface Devices>and disable USB Input Devices listed here.
(i like this, if you use usb k/b and mouse you'll be screwed)

7# Voice Echo Fix
Just use push to talk feature rather than “Transmit my voice when I speak”. Open up your Steam Client -> Settings and in your Settings window, click the voice tab. On the bottom of the setting window, you will see two radio buttons, check “Use a push-to-key to transmit voice” assign the key and its resolved.

[reserved for community updates]

#99 Steam Worms Update
TBA

Railroad tracks.
The US standard railroad gauge (distance between the rails) is 4 feet, 8.5 inches. That's an exceedingly odd number.

Why was that gauge used? Because that's the way they built them in England, and English expatriates designed the US railroads.

Why did the English build them like that? Because the first rail lines were built by the same people who built the pre-railroad tramways, and that's the gauge they used.

Why did 'they' use that gauge then? Because the people who built the tramways used the same jigs and tools that they had used for building wagons, which used that wheel spacing.

Why did the wagons have that particular odd wheel spacing? Well, if they tried to use any other spacing, the wagon wheels would break on some of the old, long distance roads in England, because that's the spacing of the wheel ruts.

So who built those old rutted roads? Imperial Rome built the first long distance roads in Europe (including England ) for their legions. Those roads have been used ever since.

And the ruts in the roads? Roman war chariots formed the initial ruts, which everyone else had to match for fear of destroying their wagon wheels.

Since the chariots were made for Imperial Rome, they were all alike in the matter of wheel spacing. Therefore the United States standard railroad gauge of 4 feet, 8.5 inches is derived from the original specifications for an Imperial Roman war chariot. Bureaucracies live forever.

So the next time you are handed a specification/procedure/process and wonder 'What horse's ass came up with this?' , you may be exactly right. Imperial Roman army chariots were made just wide enough to accommodate the rear ends of two war horses. (Two horses' asses.)

Now, the twist to the story:

When you see a Space Shuttle sitting on its launch pad, there are two big booster rockets attached to the sides of the main fuel tank. The railroad line from the factory happens to run through a tunnel in the mountains, and the SRBs had to fit through that tunnel. The tunnel is slightly wider than the railroad track, and the railroad track, as you now know, is about as wide as two horses' behinds.
