This is pretty much true for every Neveldine/Taylor movie.

hah crazy, I am watching it at the mo... some freaking weird actors in here... Peter from Heroes, Michael C. Hall etc.

It's pretty average but perfect for my frame of mind atm, except the fat gamer guy... he's making me feel sick.

Wahhahaha, I thought the fat gamer guy was awesome ;P

Pretty fucked up shit with Society though- I bet that's a really accurate representation of what would happen if people were able to do that, etc.

Old Boy - 8.5 / 10

A really strange film, but pretty awesome. Definitely more than your average thriller. Probably the 4th Korean film I've seen so far, haven't been disappointed yet.

That said, I loved the clip of society (it's during the interview at the start) in which that dude rolls past the screen on his moped with the nick "MYBALLSHURT" haha.

same underlying theme's also...awkward boy loses the things he holds most dear (zombielands - family, everything etc. adventureland - trip to nyc, college plans etc), and winds up in an unfamiliar situation. meets up with a 'badass dude' and cruises along with him, old dude has his eye on the chic he's trying to mack, rah rah rah awkward dude finds himself, opens up, pulls the chic, saves the day

Charlie Bartlett:

Started off fairly interesting, quickly devolved into confused, angsty bullshit. It's silly, over the top, and the latter half is so formulated that you hardly need to bother watching it. Much like Juno, although I'm sure some of you would disagree with me. Has some merit in Robert Downey Jr. playing an ironic role at times, and the lead chick was half decent (even though her character is pretty ridiculous).

My rating - 5.5/10. Skip this one.

Revolver. Far superior than anything else I've seen by the dude who made Lock, Cock and two smoking broads... including Sherlock Holmes. Might be more down to the screenplay and some actual acting from Jason Statham. Was pleasantly surprised.

With the '68 Planet of the Apes being a 9.5/10 and Killer Klowns from Outer Space being a 0.5/10

Revolver 7.5
Ghost World 5
Sherlock Holmes 5
Shaolin Temple 7
La Femme Nikita (French) 9
Taken 6
Vertigo 8.5
North By Northwest 8
To Catch a Thief 5.5
Rear Window 9
The Man who knew too Much 6.5
The Young Victoria 2 (even with the bj enticer. )
Friday Night Lights 4
Fantastic Mr Fox 3
Goodbye Lenin (rewatch) 6.5
Planet of the Apes box set (5 movies) 7.5... the third one is abysmal dragging the average down.

I thought the 2001 one wouldn't be any good and never watched it but finally gave in after watching the box set earlier this year. Was slightly impressed. I wasn't expecting much but it exceeded my expectations (2/10) and made about a 6... the plot wasn't TOO bad, and marky mark has fuck all acting to do.

If you get round to that box set, skip through the 3rd one, pretty sure you'll know when. They were all made to capitalise on the success of the first one, but the plots and dialogue aren't too bad. The costumes get worse and there's even a little blacksploitation.
