[NZFL2] Championship Grand Final - Nothing Special vs Bandcamp

As most of you will know, after the fifth round of NZFL2 Bandcamp and Nothing Special have exactly the same points and stats therefore we are holding a Grand Final to decide the overall Championship winners!

The Grand Final will be played on two maps with a decider

From Sunday the 25th of September teams have until midnight Tuesday the 27th of September to organise roster changes if needed, until Sunday the second of October to organise the match time and the game must be played before midnight Sunday the 9th of October

Other than the changes outlined below everything is as per the NZFL2 ruleset

The maps are cp_badlands and cp_gullywash_pro with a koth_pro_viaduct_rc3 decider should it be needed

Played over 2 halves of 30 minutes
First to 5 wins
First half is 30 minutes long or first to 4
Cannot result in a draw (if its a draw after 2 halves, a golden cap-out scenario is played)

koth_viaduct_pro

Played first to five (3 rounds to win)
No time limit


There will be Gamestah coverage of the event and a 100 slot STV server for the match, and we will have an announcement thread with the STV and mumble details when the date of the match is determined

since we had a date set and were ready to go and the organiser delayed it for reasons we dont yet know

Because of that its now fallen into a time thats hard for everyone. I dont think anyone really cares if we play it in a few weeks tbh (post exams)
We are really looking forward to it, even if its against a team that doesnt exist

So, a big stack of drama got deleted, and while it's probably best to just let sleeping dogs lie it seems like it's worth weighing in here.

NZF's admin team is largely MIA. Not to be dicks to any of them because they're all some of the best and most dedicated dudes I know, but most don't have the time for NZF these days (myself included; albeit I never really had the time). Since Squiddy left (and took his amazing zeal for organising with him), the place has been largely adrift. I take responsibility for that.

Greaver asked us a while back to help out. Initially, I was a little worried; typically when people ask to be an admin on a forum they're actually a massive tool and just want to wave their e-dick around. This has proved not the case at all with Greaver; he's a fucking gary good cunt AAA+++ and I'd back him 100%.

Unfortunately, he's been a little shy about stepping on the toes of the admins still around rather than just charging in and getting shit done. That's not his fault; he's a fucking decent dude and that's the way I'd expect any decent person to act. It has meant that shit like this has dragged on, entirely because he wasn't sure wtf to do with the rest of us MIA.

We've just discussed this and basically, he's going to be stepping up and getting shit done. I don't know what "shit" is yet, but I'm looking forward to seeing what he does.

So, yeah. None of the delays were his fault, they're ours, and I'm sorry for that. Hopefully things will start to get better now.

There's been some admin discussion and so on in our super-sekrit lair, but it does take a bit of time to organise and we're trying to tie in with other things (as Greaver has pointed out).
