image software/tools
Hey,
I'm bicurious about what tools folk use to image their OS's's's's. Prefer free tools as I don't plan on spending cash and am not a fan of cracked software (these days...). Excelsior Stan L... juke ... just for you rocky. |

ShadowProtect definitely
you get a 30 day free trial license, but you can use that to create a ShadowProtect RE cd (recovery environment) this is a bootable CD that can quickly backup+restore to network/usb/local disk targets. + has a bunch of other handy tools such as boot.ini (winXP) / BCD (win7) fixer & other shit you can also 'quickmount' an image from a USB disk, which makes it show up as another external harddrive, then just copy out any files etc you want |

IT Edition, SP HIR is awsum, lets you backup PC x and Restore without drivers onto a another PC, it best matches the drivers and de-registers windows for you.
Have SP Backup MOBO Dies / machine stolen / whatever Restore SP backup with HIR to new hardware Install Drivers BACK IN ACTION so quick.... (Or Restore to VM) For a "Free" backup app I like DRIVEXML. ShadowProtect ain't free past 30 day trial http://www.runtime.org/driveimage-xml.htm |

MSPaint the tool of a true artist. Use it almost every day, since windows 3.11 to make the world a better place. (well to capture the screens of my crashed applications, beyond that it got not a lot going for it except the price)
