NZFL:2012 Format
The admin team and League Administrator team are still talking through a couple of format points as some have suggested some changes to the currently planned competition. The two options we are debating are: Direct ozfl clone - ladder running year round, with OWL or ESEA style competitions running simultaneously starting in a month or two Hybrid ladder - Twin division setup with Bo3 Finals akin to NZFL2 but with drop in/outs The admin and League Admin teams are meeting Thursday 26th to discuss this and a decision will be made during this meeting If your team will be entering regardless of which style is chosen feel free to sign up and get your roster sorted now - and remember to head on over to the recruitment section if you are looking for a team or want some muscle for your existing clan! Please note that the nzfortress email system is under repair so noone can sign up on nzfortress currently, if this is sorted by the end of this week signups will close May 5th at midnight for a May 7th Kick off, if not we will probably add another week to the sign up period so everyone has a fair chance to sign up for the first round. Thanks again for your patience people - we are working hard to bring you the best stuff we can so hold tight : D

The decision we have reached is to start the ladder as planned for the first 8 round set then transition it into your idea with one division - we can still keep the ladder style but include bo3 finals every 8 or 16 weeks, at this stage 8 seems more likely because quarterly competitions are long winded.
The whole purpose of NZFL is to provide games every week without fail and using this system we can keep that up, bo3 games will only take two weeks which means 8 weeks on two weeks off (of course unless you are in the finals) and when we have all nz teams competiting we can use it to introduce new teams to competition, and of course help us ensure teams that enter our premium competitions have a proven track record because as you are all aware we have bad history with overnight teams dropping out early in our competitions. Anyway although its been modified to suit, shoutout to freak for giving us a concept we can adapt to suit both ideas for the league.
