Eh?
The only point I was trying to make is that people will (usually) buy the best meat they can afford. If someone wants sausages, but can only afford cheap ones (sizzler diet LOL), they're not (usually) going to blow their budget for the sake of expensive sausages.
In an ideal world we'd all be eating prime mince, lovely herb-infused

you can still eat good food on a budget, I do it? I'm not saying go get fillet steak every night, or wagyu beef mince. Just if you make a sausage dish, and use cheerios or sizzler's as the sausage, it's going to taste like shit for a few bucks price difference.

Sitrfry.

5x steaks cut into strips (about $15) ($3 each)
OR
5x Chicken breasts cut into cubes (about $20 - $5 each)

AND

Whole bag of frozen veges (costs about $3, <$1 each)
2.5 cups of rice (cost <$1)

Then just whatever sauce you have available, I like teriyaki or Sweet chilli, but fuck , just add whatever.

Serves 5 for around $5 a serving.
Cheap, healthy and versatile.

You don't even need a garden for this. Just a few herbs in pots on a shelf in ya kitchen that you water can make a big difference in both taste to meals and money when it comes to adding flavour to meals.

There's also nothing wrong with using potatoes on a regular basis, spuds are cheap as hell and easy to do anything with as a side to a meal of sorts.
