Gam's Mapping Project: Bam4
Ok, so for those old school qwtf'ers im porting over one of the best maps ever made Bam4. For those non-qwtfers Bam4 was orignally made by Midori for qwtf, it was one of the best and more fun maps to play. it played well in matches due to it being symmetrical in nature and well set out.

so why are you porting a ctf map when tf2 doesnt really accomodate for that style of gameplay? just because you want to? it's easier? or just out of respect for the original map you think it should be availible for tf2? just curious.
people need to start designing more ad maps, it's harder but would be more rewarding for the community

coz bams an awesome map. it could also accomodate a change to a 3 point CP style map. atm im using it to learn etc aswell.
AD maps are boring and result in much gayness. id rather see more ctf maps come out. ad maps are in the future, but atm my knowledge of mapping is very little, so designing and making an AD map at this stage would be impossible for me. |

no never before, i probably dont intend to release it officially. but i mean if i do actually finish it, ill get it hosted some where and ppl can download it and play it. let me know what needs changing and how they think the map feels.
like i said im using it to learn |

good luck and just keep working at it. I made a heap of little maps for tfc/hl2 (was getting ready for ff) and never actually finished anything. Hardest thing to do is keep it rolling and stay interested~

Nice work, really looks good, cant waits for it to be finished. Is the ratio same as QW? in terms of player size to map?

Looks pretty cool so far. Are the textures and skybox low just for testing or is those the finer points that you're gonna add later?

dont mind the lighting, its just what came with the port over, i havent changed any of it etc, that will be one of the last things to do.
yeah all the textures and skybox etc will be fixed up once its fully textured/fixed etc for now they are just there how they are so i can get a basic idea of what its gonna look like etc sky box is low coz i just made it a box and your seeing the bottom of the skybox rather than the top of it. in terms of ratio, its gonna be bigger i believe, but i dont think by much, its 1.5x the size of the orignal map to compensate for the larger tf2 models etc Last edited by Gambit; 18th December 2007 at 12:23 PM. |

Bam has potential in TF2, like bridge being a point, top of stairs being a teams point, then where the flag was the final one; just move spawns up and shit be all gravey huu huu

yeah badlands will be a great map.
yeah i thought of making it into a CP map. was thinking say spawn at bottom to start, once middle is captured, u spawn at the top spawn. |

Yes you've got to make this map!
Those screen shots bring back memories of qwtf. I remember our clan POW. I always used to build my sentry in the basement on the ledge. I used to silent feign on under the stairwell where it is dark also. EMP grenades were devastating ![]() Do you people not understand?!!! This map was made my midori. Hes famous now!! bam4 is nz's fav map! they dont play it much anywhere else. How many of you people used to play the origional teamfortress. Its better than tf2
